According to officers at the Zwedru gate one, they were informed by the defendant that he did not escaped as being pronounced by the correction supervisor, but rather he was released by a correction officer.
Defendant Poquee alleged that his parents sent some money on one of the officers’ mobile phone with the agreement to have him released. A motorbike was also send to have him transported to Nimba because he hailed from said County.
He is currently at the correction palace assisting team of security personnel with the investigation as to who were those correction officers that release him.
Reports say this is not the first time for correction officers to release a defendants or an inmates who have committed terrible crimes under the guise of jail break, but rather they can be released by bribery as usual.
Meanwhile, if police find probable cause not to release suspect Revees, the Correction Officer is expected to be charged and sent to court.
But Officer Reeves has since denied the allegation against him.
