The Chairman of the Team Cummings has strongly warned the Liberian government that against attack on anyone of its members during the planned December 17, 2022 protest rally, because it will subsequently lead to the dissolution of the George Weah administration.

Mr. Lewis Brown, former Liberian Ambassador to the United Nations and former Information Minister during the Unity Party regime, challenged and defied President George Weah to disrupt the peaceful rally organized by the Collaborating Political Parties.

But he is now an executive of the opposition Alternative National Congress (ANC) which leads the new Collaborating Political Parties (CPP) headed by former Coca Cola Africa executive, Alexander Cummings.

Addressing a press conference in Monrovia this week, Amb. Brown cautioned President Weah “to recall his thugs”, because the CPP will never allow the replica of the July 26 in which several students was severely beaten .

“Killing me or any member of Team Cummings will never abort the December 17 peaceful rally,” he said; adding: “the attack has given me more energy and courage for to visit several communities to mobilize more people rally,” said Mr. Brown who also used to be former President Charles Ghankay Taylor’s National Security Advisor.

According to him, the attack was allegedly ordered by President Weah based on his allegations made against him in his church and accused Monrovia City Mayor, Jefferson Koijee, of dispatching thugs on him at the Voice of Liberia.

Mr. Brown described the attack as a notice of fear and act of intimidation by the government to stop the CPP from organizing the peaceful rally.

Commenting on the ruling CDC’s Secretary General Jefferson Koijee, Ambassador Brown cautioned Mayor Koijee to focus on the task given him to clean the city because he (Lewis) will never be intimidated by anyone.

Brown encouraged Koijee to desist from using violence against members of Team Cummings and the CPP because no form of intimidation will scare them to cancel the December 17 peaceful rally

According to Ambassador Brown, the December 17 peaceful rally, code named ‘We Tire Suffering’ will go on and called on the Liberian  government to provide protection for its citizens to freely express their opinions on the harsh economic situation in the country.

Meanwhile, the Coalition for Democratic Change has strongly condemned the attack on the premises of the Voice of Liberia on Monday night.

A press release signed by CDC National Chairman, Mulbah Morlu said any act of violence that stifles free speech runs contrary to the principles of the CDC.

The press statement denounced what it termed as brouhaha at the Voice of Liberia and expressed its flexibility in exercising the rule of law against violence behavior

The press statement did not mention anything about the presence or the name of Ambassador Lewis Brown.

On Monday, December 5, 2022, fist fight erupted between supporters of the CDC and CPP at the premises of Voice of Liberia where Ambassador Brown was a gust on a night time talk show.
