‘Focus on growth, not division’-Rivercess Supt urges citizens

At his induction, the newly appointed Rivercess County Superintendent has called on his citizens to put aside their political and individual differences.

Superintendent J. Bismarck Karbiah said instead of festering division, citizens in the county should concentrate on the growth and development of Rivercess.

The ceremony brought together sons and daughters of the county some of whom have been out of the county for decades.

Superintendent Karbiah thanked President George Manneh Weah for his preferment.

The Rivercess County Superintendent has at the same time vowed to transform the provincial capital of Rivercess, Cestos under his administration.

He said houses built from mud will not be constructed within the city limit.

“The current status of Cestos is a shame and disgrace to every citizen of Rivercess and we need to work together and make this place look like other cities in Liberia,” Superintendent Karbiah said.

“Under my administration, I will not sit and see people building mud houses in the city limit or put palm branches over their houses in this city,” he said.

At the same time Superintendent Karbiah has called on citizens of the county in and out to build in the city limit that will give Cestos a good look.

Mr. Bismarck Karbiah, who is the youngest Superintendent of Rivercess, has called on all concession companies operating in the county to have a local office in Cestos City.

The induction ceremony of Superintendent J Bismarck Karbiah brought together the Superintendents of Grand Bassa, Sinoe and Grand Kru Counties.

The program was also attended by former Grand Bassa County #3 Representative Gabriel Smith, who claim to hail from the county and is said to be wanting to contest in the 2020 mid-term Senatorial election in Rivercess. Also present at the ceremony were former Montserrado County #3 Representative Bill Twehway, the Director for National Rural Water Supply and Sanitation at the Ministry of Public Works Amos Twehway Sawmadal who also wanting to contest in Rivercess in the 2020 Senatorial election and former Superintendent Wellington Geevon-Smith, who lost to current Senator Francis Paye and now want to also contest in the county comes 2020.

The Superintendent induction ceremony of Superintendent Karbiah was held at the Cestos City Hall last Saturday.
