The specialized committee constituted by House Speaker Bhofal Chambers has been given additional one week to continue its investigation of Montserrado County District # 10 Rep. Yekeh Kolubah over allege misconduct.

But while this was being done, a court in Monrovia has issued a Writ of arrest on the controversial Liberian lawmaker in connection with a riot on Broad Street in Monrovia recently.

Rep. Kolubah told local radio on Tuesday that he will resist any arrest that is not done in line with the constitution and the due process of law.

The specialized Committee was constituted to ensure that Rep. Kolubah is investigated over recent situation “acts of disorderly conducts” allegedly carried out by the Montserrado County lawmaker and some Liberians in Monrovia upon his return from Ghana.

Making a report to the plenary of the House of Representatives during Tuesday’s session, the Chairperson of the specialized committee, Sinoe County Rep. Matthew Zarzar told his colleagues that they have tried by all means to provide due process to the lawmaker but has not yielded the results needed.

Rep. Zarzar  indicated that the first invitation extended to the Montserrado County District #10  lawmaker was on the 6th and 7th  of June, 2019 at which time in placed an excuse that he (Rep. Kolubah) was busy with his June 7 planned protest.

The Sinoe County Rep. reported that on the 10th of June again, the lawmaker was to attend the hearing of the committee but this time he claimed that he was sick.

“We also made efforts for him to appear on the 14th of June and when he appear, he said he could not sit in an all CDC committee,” Rep. Zarzar said.

On the other hand, Montserrado County Rep. Zarzar has written the House of Representatives informing them of many threats on his life which have not been investigated by that august body.

Rep. Kolubah cited his organized children’s party which was disrupted, the shootout at his residence and allege attack on him.

The lawmaker in his communication which was carbon Copy (cc copy) to various embassies accredited near Liberia indicated that his colleagues have not shown any concern over the months since he was attacked.

If what written on the walls is read clearly, it means that members of that body are to take a decision on the Montserrado district #10 lawmaker which could lead to his suspension  or explosion from the House of Representatives.
