Monrovia, Liberia- The Family of the late Zenu Miller has disclosed that their son died of hypertension (high blood pressure), the Press Union of Liberia (PUL) has said.
According to a PUL press release issued on Monday, February 17, 2020 and signed by its Secretary General, Musa Kanneh, the Head of the Miller’s Family, Mr. Forkpa Miller told the Press Union that hypertension (high blood pressure) is contained in the death certificate as cause of death.
Journalist Miller of the private owned OK Fm 99.5 died on Saturday, February 15, 2020, just few weeks after he received flogging from the elite presidential security, Executive Protection Force (EPS).
That attack took place during the National County Sports meet at the Samuel Kanyon Doe Sports Complex in Monrovia’s Paynesville suburb. Journalist Miller, who complained to the Press Union of Liberia (PUL) after being victimized by the security brutality.
Mr. Forkpa Miller however insisted that the family has decided not to make the death certificate public to avoid the privately sensitive document from spreading on the social media.
At the same time, the Press Union of Liberia is engaged with the Miller Family in planning a befitting burial for Journalist Zenu Miller. Interment has been tentatively scheduled for the 29th of February 2020.
The first general meeting for family, friends, and media colleagues for funeral arrangement in honor of the fallen Liberian Journalist is scheduled for Thursday, 20th February 2020.
The Press Union of Liberia (PUL) has meanwhile expressed disgust about the unabated wave of combustible falsehood, and misrepresentation circulating the social media.
The Union categorically states that it took substantial steps in condemning the alleged flogging of deceased Journalist Zenu Miller- calling for an immediate investigation into the matter. The Union has been engaging with the Security sector including the Executive Protective Service on the alleged brutality meted against its members.
Moreover, the Press Union of Liberia (PUL) has renewed its call for an investigation into the alleged whipping of the Journalist Miller.
