The Center for National Documents and Records Agency (CNDRA) has raised134,000 United States dollars in the past six months, the head of the agency says.
CNDRA Director General, D. Nelson Bearngar this week revealed that the money generated from January to June 2024 is used to fund the national fiscal budget, which supports the Liberian government.
He asserted that the administration cut wasteful spending to raise money.
Regarding the budget projection, the National Archives needs to provide three hundred forty-one thousand $341,000 USD towards the national budget for 2024.
According to DG Bearngar, the CNDRA needs to raise $207,000 USD in the following six months, from July to December 2024.
“The kind of team I am working with and the policies we have developed will enable us to raise the remaining amount in the next six months,” he said.
Meanwhile, Director General Bearngar has declared that the Archives Center would no longer offer gratis services in order to enable the organization to make money.
Some were taking advantage of it to their own detriment, which prevented the government from receiving the necessary funding, he stated.
