Monrovia, Liberia- The President of the Republic, H.E. Dr. George Manneh Weah has received report from the special investigative committee tasked to probe reported breaches in the health and administrative protocols which guide the issuance of Covid-19 test results by the National Public Health Institute of Liberia (NPHIL).

The committee headed by Dr. Linda Birch, President of Liberia Medical and Dental Council (LMDC), presented its report on Friday, August 14, 2020.

Dr. Birch thanked the Liberian Leader for giving her the opportunity to chair the committee. She said the report was comprehensive and included findings and recommendations.

“Here is the report in keeping with the mandate given us. This report is also accompanied by evidence”, she pointed out.

The Liberian Chief Executive thanked Dr. Birch and the entire committee for carrying out the task.

“I will go through the report keenly and do what is best as the health and welfare of Liberians and residents alike remain paramount”, Dr. Weah said.

The committee was charged with the responsibility of finding out whether there have been systemic breaches in the reporting procedure of COVID-19 results and recommend actions to be taken in order to remedy the situation.

Other members of the committee were Minister of Justice, Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs, Mawine Diggs and a representative each from the US Center for Disease Control (CDC) and World Health Organization (WHO), an Executive Mansion press release says.
