GBARNGA- Officers of the Liberia National Police (LNP) in Bong County have stepped up the enforcement of the compulsory wearing of nose and face masks aimed at limiting the spread of the coronavirus in the county.

Bong County Police Commander Fredrick Nappay has told citizens and residents of the County to wear nose masks before getting out of their homes.

Commander Nappay said, “No one should leave their house without a nose mask; no motorcyclists must run traffic without a nose mask, no one should be carried by a motorcyclist without a mask.”

Nappay has further ordered police officers to enforce the President’s compulsory mask wearing mandate while on duty.

“I have told my officers to ensure that everyone entering the police stations wear nosemasks because it is part of the President’s mandate,” he said.

According to our Bong County correspondent, police have subsequently been stopping vehicles not to inspect documents, but to ensure that all occupants on board had on their masks.

Commander Nappay said he will not rest until “everyone entering the police stations and depots in the county makes it their duty to wear nose masks”.

He warned that violators will be detained and made to pay a fine to the government.
