HARPER, Liberia- A disaster has hit Maryland County.
The Captain of a vessel (Cassiopea), which regularly travels from Monrovia to Harper, in the southeastern Maryland County, who reportedly went missing upon docking at the Port of Harper, has now been was found dead.
This news outlet, www.newspublictrust.com has reliably learned that the Captain identified as George Karjah, age 59, disembarked from the vessel on Thursday, December 9, 2021 to socialize with the locals in this coastal city.
But he was later reportedly missing, leaving people including security officers in the city to launch a search for him.
While on the search for his whereabouts, the lifeless body of Captain Karjah was found on December 11,202 in Harper at the Port.
Eyewitnesses told this Reporter, that the late Captain did not return up 11pm, a situation that made the occupants of the vessel to alarm about his whereabouts, thus an immediate search was launched .
In an interviewed with the Director of the Sea Port Harper, Williams Wallace said the Management of the Sea port of Harper regrets the sad situation, noting that since he took over the Port as Director, this is the first of its kind for such situation to happened.
Mr. Wallace said on Thursday morning, December 9, 2021, the vessel was given clearance from the Port of Harper but unfortunately, but unfortunately an information was released on Friday morning that the Captain was Missing.
The Harper Port Director disclosed that when he got the news, he quickly contacted the National Security and other concerned citizens in Maryland County, which led to an immediate search for the Captain until Saturday morning when he was found dead.
When the Captain body was discovered, some citizens in this County including the Media, Health workers, National Security, Harper Sea Port Management immediately went on the scene.
However, security authorities in the county are said to be investigating the cause of death of the vessel Captain.
