Over alleged damaging remakes made by Senator Commany Wesseh in and out of the chambers, members of that body have subjected him to investigation.

A communication from Senator Dallas A.V. Gueh of Rivercess County complained to the plenary of the Liberian Senate that the recent pronouncements by Senator Wesseh in the chambers and on media outlets has the proclivity to undermine the “integrity and sanctity” of the Liberian Senate.

In his official complaint to that body, the Rivercess Senator said that his colleague ( Wesseh) had, accused the Liberian Senate of lawlessness and what he called denigrating remarks with aim of bringing the august body to public disrepute and as well buy public sentiment.

Since the impeachment of former Associate Justice Ja’neh, members of the Liberian Senate have since engaged in war of words with each other.

Those who didn’t support the just-ended impeachment have allegedly accused their colleagues of taking bribe from the Executive to carry out their action, while their fellow lawmakers who voted for the impeachment have taken issues with their colleagues for “tarnishing and causing a bard cloud on the sanctity of that body.”

On April 4,2019, Senate President Pro Tempore, Albert Chief also wrote the plenary of the Liberian Senate requesting it to investigate Sanator Sando Johnson of Bomi county on the issue of behavioural problems.

In the Pro Temp’s letter last week, Senator Chie said the Bomi County Senator accused the Liberian Senate of receiving bribe to impeach Ja’neh, the allegation nearly all of the Senators who voted for the impeachment have denied.

The bribe accusation was made against Senate Committee on Judiciary and this same committee has been mandated to investigate the lawmakers who have alleged of members of that body taking bribe. The Senate committee on judiciary is to investigate the claim.

The Senate committee on judiciary is to investigate the lawmakers who have gone to the public with negative criticisms against the Liberian Senate and report after their current Easter break.
