The assigned Circuit Court Judge of the 5th Judicial Circuit for the August A.D. 2021 Term of Court in Liberia’s western Grand Cape Mount County, Judge Blamo Dixon has described the National Trial Judges Association of Liberia (NTJAL) as a complete “Susu” Club.

Susu Club is the local name for a savings club in Liberia.

Judge Dixon also lashed at the legal auxiliary for being less proactive and for failing to comment on sensitive national issues.

The Judge’s attack on the NTJAL is contained in his charge delivered at the opening of the August Term of Court at the 5th Judicial Circuit Court in Robertsport, Grand Cape Mount County on August 9, 2021.

Giving reason for his assertion, he said that the NTJAL should not be used to collect money from its members to simply fund wedding programs and funerals or to give out loans.

Judge Dixon also lashed at the Trial Judges Association for, According to him, achieving nothing since Judge Eva Mappay Morgan became president.

He pointed out that the Trial Judges Association’s President focuses more on corruption cases from the Judiciary Inquiry Commission that are now before the Supreme Court.

A case of judicial corruption in the MOTC-Brosius case is currently pending before the Supreme Court.

But there has so far been no reaction from the leadership of the Trial Judges Association to Judge Dixon’s criticism.
