Jury Finds Pres. Weah’s Senior Protocol Officer Guilty Of Aggravated Assault

TEMPLE OF JUSTICE, Monrovia- A unanimous guilty verdict has been handed down by jurors of the Criminal Court “A” against President George Weah Chief of Protocol at the Executive Mansion, Cleopatra Cummings.

Trial jurors sitting as trial of facts in the aggravated assault case handed down their guilty verdict on Monday, June 20, 2022,

Madam Cummings was indicted by the Grand Jury of Montserrado County months ago, where she was charged for crimes of aggravated assault and criminal attempt to commit murder. Madam Cummings allegedly attempting to kill Grace Wah with a razor blade in February of this year.

Following the jurors’ unanimous guilty verdict, Judge Roosevelt Z. Willie of Criminal Court A instructed the probation office at the Ministry of Justice to a pre-sentence report on convict Cummings character or reputation in her community, work place including schools that she attended.

The pre-sentence report is expected to be submitted on June 27,2022 and sentencing is expected on the same day.

Victim Grace Wah in an exclusive interview said convict Cummings attacked her after accusing her of dumping dirt in front of her gate which she said is untrue.

She furthered that an argument ensued between them, which led to the president’s chief of Protocol officer using razor blade to tear her face.

Madam Wah added that after the incident, Cummings boldly told her that the case would go nowhere, stressing that she has served four presidents and has high connections.

She however, thanked the 12-member trial jurors for giving her the Justice that she deserve, adding that there is indeed Justice in the country.

The action of President Weah’s Protocol Officer’s against victim Wah was in violation of Chapter 12, Section 12.3 of the Criminal Procedure of Liberia.
