Justice Forum LIBERIA (J.F.L.) is reiterating her call to the government of Liberia to constitute an independent body to head the investigation process leading to the mysterious deaths of Madam Gifty Asmah Lama and Mr. Albert Peters both of the LRA.

The JFL says it is “however disturbed by the statement from the chief executive of the Republic, H.E. President Weah made on Sunday at his Forky Klon Jlaleh Family Fellowship Church in which he asserted that no one is clothed with the right to kill another one, even if they were boyfriend and girlfriend.”

The lifeless bodies of two employees of the Liberia Revenue Authority (LRA)–Albert Peters and Gifty Lam, were discovered in a vehicle on Snapper Hill-Broad Street in Monrovia last Friday, October 2, 2020. They were on Monday sujected to a Coroner examination Monday morning, as Liberian Police IG Patrick Sudue admits there was initial error on the crime scene.

This means that the crime scene was contaminated by not immediately establishing an exclusive perimeter for the investigators to do their job without public intrusion.

But so far, Police have not given any lead into their mysterious deaths.

Justice Forum LIBERIA has stressed that in such a mysterious death case, the only thing that is needed of the chief executive is a statement of condemnation and promising for government total support to the investigation process.

JFL has also condemned news of the killing of another citizen also believed to be an employee of the same LRA. Justice Forum LIBERIA is devastated by these developments and is therefore calling on Liberia’s international partners including the US government, the European Union, the UK government, the African Union, Amnesty International, etc to lend Liberia a helping hand in the process of investigation, especially the forensic aspect of it.
