GBARNGA, Liberia-The Liberia Drugs Enforcement Agency (LDEA) Bong County Detachment has confiscated at least 216 kilograms of marijuana from several drug dealers in Totota and other communities in the County, the agency’s Director of Communication and Public Affairs has disclosed.
This area is situated 169 kilometers east of Monrovia.
Mr. Michael Jipply said nine persons allegedly linked to the drugs trafficking in the Bong have been charged and forwarded to court.
The LDEA Communications Director placed the street value of the 216 kilograms of marijuana to over two hundred thousand Liberian Dollars.
Mr. Jipply at the same time condemned the recent alleged Rubber Factory community attack on LDEA officers while raiding drugs areas by some drugs dealers and community members as a total disrespect to agency.

He said that the act doesn’t only shows lawlessness but undermine the fight against drugs across the country.
He said intensifying their strength at the various ports of entries as security officers is a national concern with a call to central government for adequate budget so as to beef-up its operations.
In order to crack down drugs traffickers and users across the country, Mr. Jipply want citizens corporate with the Liberia Drugs Enforcement Agency.
He is appealing to citizens of Bong County to provide information in order to have a drugs free society.
