The Liberty Party (LP), which was founded by the late prominent opposition figure, Cllr. Charles Walker Brumskine, has officially launched a week-long series of activities marking its 21st anniversary, as the party reflects on more than two decades of political participation and democratic advocacy in Liberia.
Celebrating under the theme, “LP at 21: Renewing Strength and Claiming the Future,” party officials say the anniversary is aimed at reaffirming the party’s commitment to democratic governance, inclusiveness, and national development.
According to Anniversary Committee Chairperson Jackie Smith, the celebration will also serve as an opportunity for members and supporters to evaluate the party’s progress over the years while strengthening its vision and direction for the future.
Smith praised members, supporters, and partners of the party for their unwavering loyalty and commitment throughout the Liberty Party’s 21 years of existence, noting that their contributions have helped sustain the institution over the years.
As part of the anniversary activities, the party on Tuesday, May 19, held an opening ceremony and press conference at its headquarters in Monrovia to officially launch the celebration.
The committee says the anniversary events are also intended to promote unity within the party and encourage continued political engagement across Liberia as the party positions itself for the future.
