-Pledges Support from mess to best

As Liberia’s educational system struggles to modernize and meet up with international standard, the Liberia Telecommunications Corporation (LIBTELCO) has expressed serious interest in buttressing the Liberian government and others’ effort to improve the country’s educational system from “mess to best.”
This national support came to reality on Thursday, October 04, 2018, when LIBTELCO officially launched its much publicized internet service program, Schoolconnect on Fendall campus of the University of Liberia (UL).
However, there was jubilation and mixed views were expressed by students of the state owned university and others who turned out in their numbers to express their willingness to improve Liberia’s educational system via supporting LIBTELCO’s affordable, secured, fast, and reliable internet service.
The excited students mainly females pointed out their excitement in the corporation and its staff members, due to what they termed as “LIBTELCO urgently designing an affordable and fast speed internet service program.
It the ability to make research for everybody easy, and 21stcentury- friendly because; the internet serves as a source for the provision of sufficient meaningful information.
“We are always faced with serious challenge to have access to current books and other scholarly materials to do our assignments, research works, and other academic activities,” they noted.
Speaking to cross-section of students and others, LIBTELCO’s IT Service Management Consultant, Jay Kesselee Fatormah said the internet program is opened to all learning institutions in Liberia that are prepared to improve Liberia’s educational system.
Mr. Fatormah said the country’s education system is faced with serious constraint and students face difficulties in doing research and acquiring new ideas due to lack of technological advancement.
According to him, all learning institutions students and others who subscribe with LIBTELCO’s school connect internet service program can access the corporation’s internet service at all areas that are connected with its newest program.
He said this program is affordable, fast, reliable, and people-driven.
The LIBTELCO official said that students and others who have subscribed to the program can actively use the internet from one point of connection to another without any disruption.
But only a secret code will be provided to avoid unlawful usage by non-subscribers.
“Every student in university will pay US$5 for four months, and high school students will pay US$3 per semester each for the unlimited internet service that cannot expire or finish,” the LIBTELCO official noted.
Meanwhile, staffers of LIBTELCO were seen creating awareness in Monrovia and other parts of the country about the timely internet service program, named and styled “ school connect.
