He made the disclosure on June 16, 2020 in an exclusive interview with www.newspublictrust.com at Kpan Town Community, Barnesville in Montserrado County.
In a background statement, Director Swallie has intimated that Lifeline Medical services is the health and medical arm of the Lifeline Network Liberia, a faith based community development and empowerment organization established in 2007.
Commenting on caseload at the Health line Medical Clinic during the period under review, Director Swallie disclosed that updated statistics showed that 500 to 600 patients passed the walls of the medical facility per year.
On direct assistance from the Liberian Government, he said the assistance has mainly come from the Expanded Program on Immunization of the Ministry of Health.
The LNL Director has said that genuine support for his institution has come from their initial supporter, Lifeline Network International United Kingdom. It provided the seed funds for the establishment of Lifeline Network Liberia.
The current donor of this institution is a US-based charity, Compassion Corps that “has made very significant support to Lifeline Network Liberia and his staff and support staff are indeed grateful for the financial assistance.”
The LNL is making a clarion appeal to all Liberians at home, abroad and the Liberian Government to provide critically needed drugs that will enhance the effective delivery of medical services to Liberians in Montserrado and its environs.
“We are also opened to partnership and collaboration aimed at providing professional training for our medical staff especially the laboratory technicians at our Health line Medical Clinic in Kpan Town Community,” Director Swallie pleaded.
As part of post COVID19 proactive drive, he pointed out that plans are underway to carry out massive awareness and sensitization program in the immediate communities of the greater Kpan Town Community in Montserrado County.
“Our vision is to provide general healthcare and medical services to the people of Liberia regardless of religious, political, socioeconomic and ethnic connections at the broad spectrum of the Liberian society,” Director Swallie asserted.
Asked to throw light on the network mission, Rev. Swallie said, “Our mission is to engage in the establishment and operation of medical missions in the urban and rural parts of Liberia, thus making healthcare accessible and affordable to all Liberians.”
He however explained that Lifeline Medical Services is a self-supported initiative and funded through the operations of its medical clinic and funds raised are used to pay the staff, purchase drugs and maintain the health facility.
Lifeline Network Liberia currently runs Health line Medical Clinic, Nursing Assistant training program, Preschool classes and Lifeline Computer School.
The LNL has in its employ two products of the Mother Pattern College Health Sciences and a number of highly trained nurses and Physician Assistants that are the driving forces providing solid and effective medical services in that rural part of Montserrado County, Dirctor Swallie said.
On some of the challenges of the medical entity, he disclosed that a nursing house has been constructed and urgent internal furnishing materials are needed in order to begin maternal Delivery services at the Health line Medical Clinic.
“We are dire need funds to build our preschool building which we initially built with zinc and I really think we need to transform the building for a better learning atmosphere on our compound,” Director Swallie stressed.
Besides, the LNL’s Health line Medical Clinic is at the moment encountering serious difficulties due to continuous leakages.
The head of the group said that building plays host to maternal and child care services of the Lifeline Network Liberia institution in Montserrado County.
“Liberia as developing nation can be developed at an appreciable level adding Liberians must first and foremost come together and form a united front regardless of political, socioeconomic and religious affiliations in the country,” Director Swallie added.
