Two persons have reportedly been killed as a result of lightning strikes in Maryland and River Gee Counties, situated some 591 kilometers from Monrovia.

The victims have been identified as Aaron Kpangbe, 45, of Fishtown, River Gee and Bestman Hinneh, 26, of Maryland.

The two are said to have met their fate in different localities and at different times amidst heavy rain accompanying the lightning strikes.

He is said to have been preparing a meal and had just come from fetching water before he was struck. Hinneh is a 2018 graduate of the Jasper Grant United Methodist High School and has since been buried.

For Kangbe, he was in a group sitting under a kitchen when the lightning struck instantly killing him on January 12, 2021. Report by Garmah Never Lomo, garmahlomo@gmail.com
