Speaking after their arrest, David Joe and Tarnue said they had no weapon or flash light to have them protected and it was from that background they begin to escape because Darius who allegedly murdered Patience Sumo had knife with him.
“I was at the feast last night, when the instrument that was playing the music started giving problem my friend Tarnue told me we should go home; it was at that point that Patience decided to follow us, because it was late and we were walking but I was ahead while my friend Tarnue and Patience were behind because Patience Ex-boyfriend (Darius) has excused me before of loving to Patience so I did not want her and me to walk together,” David Joe added.
One of the renters Oretha Binda who lives in the same house where the late Patience Sumo stayed narrated that she was asleep when Darius allegedly put the house at blast.
“It’s just God that was with us because before the late Patience Sumo left she told me to take care of her son the boy and I were sleeping when we heard someone pushing the door and I asked but the person did not answer, Just within few minutes I started experience the heat and smoke on the building and I began to shout,’’ she added.
