GRAND KRU COUNTY, Liberia — For many families in District #2, access to basic healthcare has long been a daily struggle.

Small clinics lacked essential equipment, forcing parents to make long, costly journeys to distant health centers — sometimes risking their children’s lives in the process.

Oleo C. N. Wreh, a son of Grand Kru County recently led a major distribution of medical supplies across the district, delivering life-saving tools to clinics in Buah Geken, Bolloh New Town, Forpoh Dweken, Bolloh Doeswen, Saastown, Klipo, and beyond.

“I used to fear when my children got sick,” said one mother in Bolloh New Town. “Now I know they can be checked right here at our clinic. It is a relief for all of us.”

The supplies — including blood pressure cuffs, pulse oximeters, thermometers, syringes, elastic bandages, and adhesive tapes — are expected to improve patient care and strengthen the ability of local health workers to respond to emergencies.

Clinic staff say the equipment will not only enhance patient monitoring but also boost morale. “It is hard to work when you don’t have tools,” explained a nurse at Forpoh Wonpluken Clinic. “Now, we can give better care, and that gives us confidence.”

The initiative is coordinated by Mr. Rufus Wisseh, Principal Coordinator, ensuring that every facility receives its fair share of supplies.

Community leaders describe the effort as a tangible demonstration that local residents are seen, heard, and supported.

For families across District #2, the message is clear: healthcare is becoming more accessible, and small clinics now have the tools to save lives without long, exhausting journeys.
