MYSTERIOUS: Boy, 13, Allegedly Commits Suicide In Sinoe County, Liberia

Shock and astonishment has hit the people of Seebeh community in Greenville City, Liberia’s southeastern Sinoe County, after a little boy, age 13, was discovered hanging from a tree.

Report from the area says the boy identified as Gbaedea Klay, Jr. was discovered handing dead on a breadfruit tree yesterday, Friday October 22, 2021. But some residents are wondering whether it was actually suicide

The boy was discovered with bruises on his head and neck broken.

However, a nine member coronor jury that later examined the body coupled with medical examination discovered that there was no foul play.

According to the father of deceased, Gbaedea Klay, Sr, his child usually leaves from home without his consent and go to unknown destinations, thus leading to search for his whereabouts.

Describing his son as a troublesome child,  Mr. Klay said since his son has been giving his mother hard time when he was living with her in Karquekpo, Du-port River district, that prompted him the 13-year-old to live with him in Greenville, 150 miles from Monrovia.

The deceased boy is said to have been in the habit of leaving his parent’s home unknowingly, something the caused his father to recently take him to the Police women and children protection section as a means of restraining little Gbaedea. That was unable to help, his father explained.

But another report says that boy was suspected to have been initiated into witchcraft activities and that a “strange spirit or Gina” was behind him, according to some local traditional secret society belief.

It was last Tuesday that the little boy was said to have left his father’s home before being discovered dead on Friday, when his step brother discovered him between 10-11 Am GMT. Report by Garmah Never Lomo, garmahlomo@gmail.com
