New Associate Justice And New Liberian Amb. To UN Nominated By Pres. Weah

Monrovia, Liberia – President George Manneh Weah has nominated a Circuit Judge to the Senate, Yamie Quiqui Gbeisay, Sr. as Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of Liberia.

Judge Gbeisay, who hails from Nimba where the outgoing Chief Justice Francis Korkpor hails from, will be replacing Justice Sie-A-Nyene Yuoh who was recently confirmed as the next Chief Justice.

His nomination was announced in an Executive Mansion press release yesterday, September 7, 2022.

The nomination of Judge Gbeisay came among number of nominations in government made by President Weah pending Senate confirmation where applicable.

Others nominated by the President Mrs. Sarah B. Fyneah, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary and Permanent Representative of Liberia to the United Nations and all its organs, and with non-resident concurrent accreditation to Brazil and Cuba.

Dr. Weah has also named Mr. Samuel Bannett as Deputy Commissioner for Technical Affairs at the Liberia Revenue Authority; and Mrs. Maria G. Harrison as Secretary General of the Manu River Union.
