On Her Death Bed: Rep. Munah Youngblood Urged Unity In CDC

(Last Updated On: )

She’s Finally Laid To Rest After A Big Funeral

As the funeral took place in Monrovia of Montserrado County Representative Munah Pelham Youngblood, it was revealed over the weekend that she had called for unity within the ruling CDC.

Amidst loud wailings and weeping among mourners, CDC Chairman Mulbah Morlu revealed the Will of the fallen stalwart of the party before she died.

Since the ruling party took office in January 2018, there have been widespread reports of dissent in its rank and file. In a leaked audio some time ago, CDC Chairman Mulbah Morlu was heard criticizing President George Weah for converting money and resources negotiated for abroad into his personal use and abusing his office by allegedly exchanging official position of some females for sex.

But after the recording became public knowledge, the CDC Chairman said he was under the influence of alcohol.

“Return to the Sycamore  Tree, settle differences, reclaim Montserrado,” referring the massive defeat suffered by the CDC in last year’s Senatorial By-election which caused the party of President Weah to lose the seat that it has held since 2005 to Senator Darius Dillon of the opposition Liberty Party.

At the ceremony held at the Sports Complex in Paynesville over the weekend, President George Manneh Weah paid his last respect to the deceased, whom he invariably described as one of the most loyal and committed partisans of the Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC) he ever interacted with.

Rep. Youngblood, who died in Ghana after a prolonged struggle with illness, was one of Liberia’s youngest Lawmakers and considered as a very influential champion of women’s political participation.

President Weah described the deceased as one endowed with skills and virtues that enabled her to accomplish so much in so short a time.

Rep. Youngblood, the President noted, left an indelible print on all of those she interacted with during her earthly sojourn including both young and old, as well as the rich and the poor, among other sympathizers.
