One Suspected COVID-19 Case in Lofa County,as Liberia Records 7th Confirmed Case

VOINJAMA, Liberia- The northwestern Liberian County of Lofa has seen its first suspected case of Coronavirus.

It was announced in the County the same day the Liberian government announced the seventh recorded confirmed case of the deadly disease.

Information Minister Eugene Nagbe told the state radio, ELBC on Friday that the seventh confirmed COVID-19 case involves a foreign national.

The Lofa County Health Team on Friday April 3, 2020 announced one suspected case of the COVID-19 in Zorzor city, Lofa County.

Making the pronouncement, the Lofa County Surveillance Officer Alpha Tamba said the 39 years old female was suspected at the current Lutheran hospital in Zorzor after she came dome with most of the symptoms of the COVID-19.

According to him, the 39 years old woman trivial recently from Monrovia to Zorzor to visit other family members.

He further said that specimens from the suspected case has been sent to Monrovia for testing and that result from the case is pending but called on the public not to panic.

Mr. Alpha Tamba has however called on all citizens and residents of the county to make use of the various health centers in the communities.
