Former Liberian President George Weah’s CDC party and Representative Musa Bility’s CMC parties have both expelled their members in the House of Representatives who voted to expel Montserrado County District #10 Rep. Yekeh Y. Kolubah last Friday.

Both parties, which are currently in the opposition, are strongly against the action by 49 of the 73-member House on April 17, 2026 to expel the controversial Lawmaker Kolubah for recently saying in the local media that the land Guinean soldiers occupied in the northwestern Lofa County belongs to neighbouring Guinea.
In a statement announcing the expulsion of its lawmaker over the weekend, the opposition Congress for Democratic Change (CDC) said the actions that undermined internal discipline and the party’s political stance in the Legislature.
Former President Weah’s CDC alleged that they had received US$25,000 each to support a resolution seeking the removal of former Rep. Kolubah from the 55th Legislature, a claim that has not been independently verified.
Among CDC Representative expelled Julie Fatorma Wiah of Lofa County District 2, Momo Siafa Kpoto of Lofa County District 3, Alexander Poure of River Gee County District 1, Choloplay Isaac Wuo of River Gee County District 2, Johnson S. N. Williams of River Gee County District 3, and P. Mike Jury of Maryland County District 1.
The CMC party of Nimba County District #7 Representative Musa Hassan Bility also announced that it was expelling Representative Jerry K. Yogboh Sr. of Montserrdo County District #12 for backing the expulsion of Rep. Kolubah during the special sitting of the House plenary last Friday.
