Monrovia — Dr. Clarence Moniba, the political leader of the Liberia National Union (LINU) has launched a sharp critique of the current administration of President Joseph Boaka, arguing that it has done little to improve the lives of ordinary Liberians compared to the former CDC government of ex-President George Manneh Weah.
Speaking Thursday on a local radio talk show in Monrovia, Dr. Moniba said the realities on the ground tell a troubling story, noting that many citizens continue to struggle with the same economic and social hardships they faced in previous years.
According to him, despite repeated promises of reform, good governance, and national renewal, the cost of living remains high, jobs are scarce, public services are weak, and economic opportunities are limited for the majority of Liberians.
“The faces may have changed, but the hardship is the same,” Dr. Moniba said, questioning the real impact of the current government’s policies on the daily lives of citizens.
He also took issue with government claims of development progress, arguing that several projects now being promoted as achievements were initiated long before the present administration assumed office.
“Many of the projects being showcased today started five or six years ago,” he said. “It makes no sense for politicians to fight over credit while the people continue to suffer without seeing real improvement.”
Dr. Moniba urged the government to prioritize honesty and accountability, calling on officials to move away from political self-praise and focus instead on delivering concrete results that directly address the needs of the population.
