Grand Kru, Liberia- The narcotic drug, Heroine valued at over one million Liberian dollars has been seized in a raid carried out by the Liberia Drugs Enforcement Agency (LDEA) in Forpoh district in the southeastern Grand Kru County.
Officers of the LDEA assigned at the Dweken checkpoint in Forpoh Statutory District recently arrested a 40-year-old women identified as Hajah Tourey in connection with the 185 grams of illicit substance recently.
LDEA officers intercepted the alleged Drugs dealer on her high way from River Gee enroot to her Gang Ghetto in Bonowen town in Parluken Forpoh District, while riding on a red commercial motorcycle taxi.
The heroine was discovered under the bike carrier, and the LDEA has put the street value of the Drugs at Five Thousand, Nine Hundred and Twenty United States Dallors or over One Million Liberia Dollars .
In an interview with www.newspublictrust.com via mobile phone on Monday at the Agency’s headquarters in Grand Kru County capital, Barclayville, the Detachment Commander Aronorld Kenewon said the suspected female drugs trafficker, Hajah Tourey was charged with 14.107 of the revised Liberian drugs law with Unlicensed sale of Drugs and illegal substance.
The commercial motorcyclist was also arrested along with the drugs Dealer.
The alleged drugs trafficker was on Monday forwarded to the Barclayville Magisterial Court for Trial. But this news outlet has gathered from the BarclayVille Magisterial Court that the case is above the jurisdiction of the court and the alleged drugs dealer has now been sent to the 12th Judicial Circuit Court in the County .
In 2018, the biggest drugs trader in Grand Kru County allegedly ordered notorious gang men to resist LDEA’s arrest that resulted into the wounding of the Agency’s chief of Operations sustaining eye injury. Several other drugs enforcement officers were also injured the in Bonowen where she currently resides.
Meanwhile, the Newly Assigned LDEA Commander has promised that hid Administration will remains robust in combating the proliferation of harmful drugs in the County.
He urged the Citizens of the County to help buttress the LDEA’s ongoing efforts by exposing drugs dealers and traffickers, in order to make the county drugs free.
