In Margibi County

Liberia’s traditional sports kickball will officially kick-off on 12 April 2025 for the 204-2025 League Season in Margibi County.
Speaking an interview over the weekend with this paper the Liberia Kickball Federation- Margibi Sub-Association Chairperson Roland Michael Tarr Nyumah made such disclosure noting that all is set for the new season to kick-off on 12 April 2025 in Margibi County.
The Sub-Association Chairperson Nyumah said though there are still challenges but no matter what the situation such beautiful game played in Margibi County must go as such the national leadership has given the go ahead to the Sub-association to kick start such competition after the leadership has had several meetings with all kickball stakeholders within and around the County.
Chairman Nyumah noted though the registration process is slow since it begins in February with it coming to an end on 31 March they are still optimistic that all of the clubs will meet such deadline.
When quizzed about the registrations fees for club he mentioned that each club is requested to pay the amount of LD $ 12,000.00 (Twelve Thousand Liberians Dollars) as registration fees to compete in such competition.
Chairman Nyumah lamented that the New League opening will kick start with the 2025 LKF-Margibi Sub-Assoacition Jamboree and Super Cup which he said that the Jamboree is slated for March 29, 2025, while the Super Cup is schedule for April 6, 2025.
At the same time the tough talking and inovative Chairperson Nyumah is sending an SOS call to well-meaning Margibians in and out of Margibi County for sponsorship.
“Please let make kickball grow because this is what makes the women happy,” said Chairman Nyumah.
Sponsorship amount
When ask about the amount in sponsorship Chairman Nyumah said it is a little of USD 500.00 that will covers compensation of the umpires, trophies, cash prizes, medals, field rental, publicity, among others.
He at the same time uses such medium to extends his appreciation on behalf of the leadership to the following individuals who contributed during his first year as chairman in making sure that last year’s edition was successful.
He named former Orange National-2nd Division MVP & Golden Boot Winner Momo Blamo , CEO Edwin Tarr Harmon, OMB Business Center, CEO Micheal Mitchell Willie and Margibi County lone female Lawmaker, Ellen A Attoh-Wreh of District # 3 giving the highest contributor, the media, kickball stakeholders among others .
About last year’s edition first league club Destiny Girls Kickball Club clinched the League Championship and Knockout Championship.
The LKF-Margibi Sub-Assoacition 2024-2025 League Season will for the first time witness two of the League famous club will not be competing in such competition for the very first time since competitive kickball activities was introduced in Margibi County due to the promotion of the Liberia Kickball Federation National First Division League.
It is yet clear as to how many clubs will be participating in the upcoming new season but what we do know that the like of Future Girls KC, Weah Girls Professionals KC, Surprise KC among others will be in actions in such upcoming competition.
