SPORTS: BWI-AA Come Back At SWAL-Margibi Chapter To Grab Another Victory

The theatre football house of Kakata the Nancy B. Doe Sports Stadium was a fun packed place over the weekend which saw hundreds of spectators pouring out to witness a soccer friendly between the Booker Washington Institute Alumni Association (BWI-AA) and the Sports Writers Association of Liberia – Margibi County Chapter .

The home team BWI-AA came from a goal down after the visitors the SWAL-Margibi County Chapter took a 1-0 halftime win with Ackollie Nana Nanakpallah of Classic FM and CEO of Margibi-Liberia score the only goal in the first half of the match.

Back from recess Juteh Toe, alias ” Margibi Prince ” class of 2009 level the score to 1-out in the early minutes of the second half.

With much ethusiasm and pressure from the home team the visitor was reduced to 9-men in the second half with the score one-at-piece which saw two of the defenders shown a second yellow card.

With much time left to climax the full-time Stanley Gray of Class of 2009 give BWI-AA the lead for the first time in the match which saw the home team taking a 2-1 lead in the second half.

Despite been reduced to 9-men the visitor puts our a chase but was denied several time due to good defending from.the back four of the home team with them getting on the scoresheet for the third time in the second half  with the third goal scored by Eric Coleman of the Class of 2023 to give BWI-AA a convincing 3-1 win against SWAL-Margibi County Chapter on Saturday, 22 March .

BWI-AA win against SWAL-Margibi County Chapter on Saturday, 22 March at the famous Nancy B. Doe Sports Stadium in Kakata, Margibi County marks the second between the two noble institutions with BWI-AA wining two of the respective meetings.

BWI-AA first win was during the 94th Founder’s Day Celebration held 2024 which saw BWI-AA defeating SWAL-Margibi County Chapter 5-0 in a one day soccer tournament between three institutions at the refurnished BWI Sports Stadium in Kakata, Margibi County .

The sole purpose of the game on Saturday, 22 March at the Nancy B. Doe Sports Stadium was in observance of the BWI-AA  Association HomeComing Celebration which was done through a session to have plan roadmap for the association in the next 5yrs to come.

Such day is set aside in the constitution of the organization to be celebrated every February before graduation but this year’s was postponed due to the death and burial of one of its astute member.

About the BWI-AA:

The Alumni Association of the Booker Washington Institute was founded in 1929

The President is Mr Thomas Momo Parker Assistant Minister for Planning and Research at the Ministry of Education.

As per research the Class of 2007/08 are in majority right now in the leadership.
