TEMPLE OF JUSTICE, Monrovia- In the ongoing Capitol Building Arson case, two technicians brought in by state prosecutors to assist with a video projector presentation were dispensed for today, Wednesday, December 3, 2025, after one of them went outside without the court’s approval.
In this case, former House Speaker, Cllr. J. Fonati Koffa, three other sitting Liberian makers and several others are being tried for alleged ARSON, CRIMINAL MISCHIEF, CRIMINAL CONSPIRACY, among other charges in connection with the fire that destroyed the Joint Chambers of the Legislature in December last year. While state first witness police officer, Rafell Wilson of the Crime services department was on the witness stand narrating the incident surrounding the burning of the Capitol building, the technician was asked by officer Wilson about of the audio recordings which wasn’t on the memory stick.
When the technician noticed that the very recording mentioned by officer Wilson wasn’t seen, he went outside without seeking permission from judge which brought a commotion that for nearly ten minutes.
Following his alleged disappearance, one of the defense lawyers, Cllr. Jonathan Massaquoi raised suspicion about the alleged disappearance of the technician who later came in with a memory including another laptop, something the defense said cannot be used.
Prior to their dispenser, a projector presentation was made showing the burnt interior part of the joint chamber of the Capitol building and the exterior.
At the exterior part of the Capitol Building, a big chloride bottle was seen laying outside and matches were also seen. In that same presentation, three electrical panel were displayed on the second floor of the Capitol building.
However, when the technicians were leaving the court room, Rep. Dixon Seboe of District #16 was heard saying carry your laptop, radio along with everything you brought.
Meanwhile, officer Wilson is still on the witness stand to continue his testimony.
