Pres. Weah Gives Kudos To I. Coast Quattara & Guinea’s Conde

Liberian President George Weah on Tuesday, November 17, 2020 sent messages of congratulations to two Mano River Union leaders, who controversially won their respective third-term elections recently.

The Liberian Foreign Ministry announced the sending of the messages in Monrovia on Tuesday.

Monrovia, Tuesday, November 17, 2020: President George Manneh Weah has extended warmest congratulations to His Excellency Alassane Quattara, President of the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire, on his re-election as President of that sisterly republic.

According to a Foreign Ministry release, President George Manneh Weah, on behalf of the Government and people of Liberia, extended deepest congratulations and best wishes to his Ivorian counterpart and recounted that the re-election of President Quattara demonstrates the level of confidence his people reposed in his ability to steer the affairs of that country.

The Liberian President also expressed hope that the cordial ties of friendship and cooperation subsisting between both countries and peoples will be further strengthened as President Quattara assumes this noble task of shaping the future of Côte d’Ivoire.

President George Manneh Weah further assured his Ivorian counterpart that the two countries will work together to deepen cooperation, commerce and other forms of partnership that spur development in their respective countries and continent as a whole.

He then prayed that the Almighty God will continue to endow President Quattara with increased wisdom and resilience to lead the people of Côte d’Ivoire to continued prosperity and happiness as he begins this arduous journey.

President Weah Sends Congratulatory Message to President Conde- Extols Him on Re-Election As President of Guinea

Monrovia, Tuesday, November 17, 2020: President George Manneh Weah has sent a congratulatory message to Professor Alpha Conde, President of the Republic of Guinea, on the occasion marking his re-election as President of that West African State.

 According to a Foreign Ministry release, President George Manneh Weah on behalf of the Government and people of Liberia, and in his own, expressed profound congratulations and best wishes, noting that the re-election of Professor Conde is a manifestation of trust and confidence the people of Guinea reposed in his ability to lead them.

The Liberian President further entertained the hope that as Professor Alpha Conde, again assumes this noble but huge responsibility in shaping the future of his country, the cordial ties of friendship and cooperation subsisting between the two countries and peoples will be further strengthened in the spirit of African solidarity as both leaders  work together in furtherance of the principles of the Mano River Union, ECOWAS, African Union and the United Nations for the promotion of regional and international peace and security.

The Liberian President then prayed that the Almighty Allah will continue to endow President Conde with abundant wisdom and strength as he leads his compatriots to greater prosperity.
