Those who solely rely on the mighty power of the God and the holy spirit were all fired up, while people who look up to man-made fetish/charms could not have stomach the sermon of the female Assistant Pastor of the Forkyklon Jlateh Family Fellowship Church in the second Sunday service of this New Year, 2023.
Forkyklon church, which was built by President George Manneh Weah shortly after taking office in January 2018, is located along the Paynesville-Robertsfield highway.
It was a special service President Weah had invited the Liberian press corps to attend as part of a New Year’s media engagement.
Pastor Jestina Miracle Diabe held no punches as she preached against false prophesies and the involvement in witchcraft activities by some people in and out of government.
“Some rely on juju,” she told the congregation, urging officials of government and other Liberians to put their trust in the Almighty God because “we are nothing without him”.
In the jam packed church during a bright afternoon hours of Sunday, January 8, 2022, Pastor Diabe delivered her sermon under the theme, Put God first and trust God, with the lead scripture taken from the Bible book of Matthew 6:2.
Referred to as “the people’s president pastor (PPP)”, the Assistant Pastor of the Forkyklon church spoke strongly against the attitude of bigotry demonstrated by some officials of the CDC government who have been blessed with power and wealth.
Some of these officials, she said, are mean and refuse to share with the less fortunate in the society and even look down ordinary people.
Pastor Diabe did not name names, but she noted that some of the government officials and other Liberians have turned their backs on God and rather put their faith in fetish objects they have on their persons, in their wallets, offices and homes.
She told the congregation that there is every need to put God first in our lives, as God “is our saviour and the only one who can keep mankind from falling, taking her text from the Bible book of Jude 1:24-25.
Pres. Weah admonishes Journalists to promote peaceful elections
After the powerful sermon by Forkklon church Assistant Pastor, which was preceded by its praise and worship team rebuking the CDC government’s opponents and thanking God for the recent discovery of a large cache of arms and ammunition at the Freeport of Monrovia, President Weah mounted the pulpit welcoming Journalists attending the service.
The CDC standard bearer is poised to make his second term bid in the October presidential election less than ten months away.
President Weah admonished the Liberian media to promote peaceful elections as watchdogs of society.
He said that media have a key role in helping to make the electoral process violence free.
