A senior officer of the Liberia National Police, who is the LNP local Human Resources Officer in Fishtown, southeastern River Gee County is disrobed after allegedly raping and impregnating a 15-year-old girl.

The Police officer, identified as J. Moses Tuider and is believed to be 49, allegedly threatened the girl if she told anyone about the situation, but the teenage girl eventually revealed his alleged sexual abuse of her.

Last year, President George Manneh Weah declared rape a national emergency.

Officer Tuider has been turned over to the Professional Standards Division of the LNP in Harper, Maryland County for further investigation, which is said to have begun yesterday.

According to the information gathered so far, the accused Moses had been having sexual intercourse with the survivor since January this year and she is currently five months old pregnant.

The information gathered further started that in January this year, the police Human Resource Officer sent the survivor for water for him and instructed her to take it in his room something she did but he later entered behind her in the room and sexually abused her.

After she reported the allegation against the local Police Human Resource Officer to the police station, he took some officers of the LNP to the residence of the home of the rape survivor aunty to question the girl.

Then the girl restated her earlier claim that he (officer Tuider) was the one who was responsible for her pregnancy in present of the officers he carried, the survivor said indeed he is one who had impregnated her.

The survivor is living with her aunty who is a businesswoman and is out selling daily, only returns home during the night. Prior to that, she never knew that her niece was pregnant, as the girl “didn’t have big stomach”.

She later got to know that the girl had been going to hospital and taking pregnancy treatment and in fact was in possession of “big belle” card without her aunty being in the know.

Further information gathered is that the survivor’s biological mother is not alive.

Both the survivor and the local Gender Coordinator are currently in Harper, Maryland County for investigation. Story by Garmah Never Lomo, garmahlomo@gmail.com
