FISH TOWN, Liberia- Credible report says Moses  Mlarmah, who is the prime suspect of  the murder of a motorcyclist in Pleebo, Maryland County has attempted committing suicide, as state prosecutors prepare to begin the trial, over 517 kilometers southeast of Monrovia..

According to our sources, suspect Moses Mlarmah attempted to take his own life Monday night at the main prison compound in in neighbouring River Gee County, where he and other suspects were transferred in the aftermath of the wave of violent protest calling for justice in Pleebo and Harper cities, Maryland County.

Credible sources within the criminal justice sector in the areas told www.newspublictrust.com that suspect Mlarmah took off his underwear and hang it up in the detention area and was about to put his head through the ring when he was spotted by an officer at the police station in the River Gee County capital.

On March 25, 2021, a motorcyclist of the Pleebo high School identified as Mordacious  Nyema  was gruesomely murdered for what is best known to his alleged killers.

This sparked a wave of mob violent actions calling for justice, including arson attacks and the storming and ransacking of the Harper Central Prison.

After his gruesome murder, Motorcyclists and residents of both Harper and Pleebo took on the street for three days under the disguise of demanding Justice for the deceased which led to serious tension with the destruction of both public and private facilities.

The cost of properties destroyed during their three days protest were US$2m and L$1m. And a dusk to dawn curfew imposed by President George Weah in the affected areas has been in place since.

Meanwhile, the 20-year-old suspect Mlarmah and his co-defendants have been to taken to nearby county awaiting court trial.

They are expected to be charged with first degree murder on Wednesday April 14, 2021.

Prime murder suspect Mlarmah along with one of the alleged perpetrator of the Pleebo murder known as “Open Zipper” and two other suspects were brought to Fishtown, where all of them were duly acquainted with their constitutional rights following investigation.

Their transfer to River Gee was prompted by fears of the tension in the area affected by the big riot in the area where the crime was committed.

Following his attempt to commit suicide, police officers in Fishtown was ordered by some justice Ministry officials to strip him of clothes, as a means of preventing a repeat of Monday night’s attempt he made to hang himself.

I is said that the prime murder suspect was in police cell alone when he attempted committing suicide.

Many believe that suspect Mlarmah alleged action was to destroy evidence, because if he does that the Ministry of Justice will be unable to prosecute said matter.

However, when the Investigation was nearly concluded, the prime suspect again told police Investigators that he lied on those whose names he had earlier been calling of being part of the murder of the Motorcyclist and linking it to ritualistic killing.

This part of his confusion was not taken serious by the police investigators.
