Shortly after she was re-instated over the weekend, Bong County Superintendent Esther Walker appears to be excited over her re-instatement by President George Weah on Sunday June 30 2019.

President Weah indefinitely suspended Madam Walker in February 2019, after she was heard in a leaked audio explaining the president’s anger over the bestowment of the main Kpelleh traditional honor on Vice President Jewel Howard-Taylor in the county.

Superintended Walker was suspended by Liberia’s President George Manneh Weah a day after a leaked audio went viral on the social media and on some radio Stations in Liberia.

In the leaked recording, Superintendent Walker, a close associate of Vice President Jewel Howard-Taylor, was heard revealing to unknown individuals that she was confronted by the Minster of State for Presidential Affairs Nathaniel McGill and Finance Minister Samuel Tweh that VP Taylor and Bong County District #3 Representative Marvin Cole were out to assassinate President Weah.

Addressing Journalists in Gbarnga barely a day after her re-instatement, Superintendent Walker lauded President Weah and described the Liberian leader as “a shepherd who does not want any sheep to get missing from the government.”

She vowed to work in advancing government’s pro-poor agenda for prosperity and development for the overall improvement of Bong County.

“I have come back to work for Bong County people for the CDC government to achieve its plan for the people of Bong County” Madam Walker added.

Superintendent Walker also commended citizens who she said were collectively and individually offering prayers and appealing to President Weah for her re-instatement while serving her suspension.

However, Superintendent Esther Walker’s leadership has being marred by huge corruption allegations and her incompetence.

The latest is where she reportedly admitted to diverting to her personal use thousands of US Dollars provided by MNG-gold, a concession company based in the county.

“Bong Eye” a local news outlet operating in Bong County as well as “Bush Chicken” an online reported in February 2019 that the company confirmed giving $4,000USD after she requested the company’s assistance to renovate Bong County Superintendent’s compound which is currently in appalling condition after it was it by a violent storm years ago.

President Weah who professes to ensure that public funds don’t end up in the pockets of corrupt individuals is yet to launch investigation into the latest corruption allegations hanging over Sup. Walker which has sent shocking wave of disappointment to many citizens in Bong County.
