Some residents of Monsee Town in Todee, rural Montserrado County have alarmed over an outbreak of a strange skin disease commonly called “Be serious”.
Some of the residents attributed the skin disease to unhealthy hygienic practice while others blamed it on other reasons.
Todee District is just a number of miles outside the Liberian capital, Monrovia and it is the largest district in Montserrado County with the total population of 30,000 residents.
One of the affected residents, Rebecca Flomo told this Reporter that her household is currently suffering from such disease.
“It can come like itch, but when it burst, it can’t be easy,” she added.
Rebecca said they have gone to the local clinic, but was never given proper medication for the skin disease.
Another resident noted that this is not the first time residents have alarmed over the outbreak of this strange skin disease.
Archie Kiazulu said his 3-year-old old son is currently taking traditional herbs to help cure this strange skin disease.
Kiazulu called on the Liberian government to come to their aid and address this outbreak, in order to avoid further spread.
When contacted on Saturday, the Spokesman for the Health Ministry, Sorbor George told www.newspublictrust.com that he was not aware of such an outbreak.
George however promised to get in touch with the head of the Montserrado County Health Team and he will get back to this medium some time later.
