Mrs. Jamima Wolokolie, the vocal former Deputy Minister of Commerce has completely fallen out of favour with the CDC government of President George Weah.

Within just 24 hours, she was dismissed from her post by President George Weah and expelled from the ruling CDC party.

President Weah dismissed her with immediate effect Deputy Commerce Minister, Jemima Wolokollie, with this action coming days after she strongly criticize the CDC leadership for demonstrating undemocratic tendencies and promoting tribalism.

Mrs. Wolokolie, who recently declared her intention to contest the Mid-Term Senatorial election in Montserrado County, accusing the CDC’s leadership under Chairman Mulbah Morlu of having a history of holding fraudulent party primaries.

An Executive Mansion press release said the President’s decision follows a string of actions incompatible with Deputy Minister Wolokollie’s status as a senior government official.

Deputy Minister Wolokolie was earlier suspended by the President for insubordination and unprofessionalism.

President Weah urged all officials of government who bear the public trust to conduct themselves properly.

Hard on the heels of the Liberian leader’s dismissal of Mrs. Wolokolie, CDC Executive Committee on Wednesday, July 1, 2020 announced her expulsion from the ruling party.

“These allegations, despite the preponderance of the evidence, were nonetheless carefully adjudicated and fairly tried consistent with best practice; which finds Madam Wolokolie GUILTY as CHARGED, and lacking moral worth to maintain membership with the CDC.”
