Weah Names Cllr. Nwabudike, Davidetta Browne-Lasanah As NEC Chair & Co-Chair

-Montserrado County Attorney, Cllr. Martins to head LACC

As the tenure of most officials of the National Elections Commission (NEC) expire shortly, President George Manneh Weah has nominated a new team to administer the affairs of the entity, as he makes additional appointments in government, the Presidency disclosed in Monrovia on Saturday.

The change of guards at NEC is coming just less seven months before before the crucial mid-term Senatorial By-election, with half of the 30-member Liberian Senate up for grasp.

Madam Lansanah is currently serving as a NEC Commissioner, while Cllr, Nwabudike previously served as head of the Governance Reform Commission (GAC).

Cllr. Edward K. Martin now goes to head the LACC from the Justice Ministry, where he has been serving as the Montserrdo County Attorney since the CDC government came to power.

Monrovia, Liberia-The President of the Republic, H.E. Dr. George Manneh Weah, today, March 21, made more nominations in government, including naming new head of the National Elections Commission (NEC).

The nominations are however subject to confirmation by the Liberian Senate where applicable.
