Frank Sainworla Says Human Interest Stories Give Voice To The Voiceless

A group under the banner, Second Chance Foundation for Better Future has recognized and honored a Liberia Media Executive Frank Sainworla, Jr. for his positive role and contribution to the media industry in the country.

Mr. Frank Sainworla is the Managing Editor of Public Trust Media Group (PTMG) owner of www.newspublictrust.com, a media trainer and former Press Union of Liberia (PUL) Secretary General, with many years of experience as a broadcast Journalist who also headed several radio stations.

According to the Chief Executive Officer of the foundation, Lassana Kanneh, they were proud to honour and come face-to-face with Mr. Sainworla who has made gains in the media profession through highlighting stories for humanity, society, and kids in the orphanage and other vulnerable groups in Liberia.

Second Chance Foundation for Better Future is a nonprofit group that runs an orphanage catering to over a hundred kids in the Gardnerville Chicken Soup Factory community.

Mr. Kanneh at the same time thanked the respected Liberian media executive for his contributions to the country’s media industry and to Liberians through his mentorship and professionalism over the years.

In response to the honor recently (Thursday, May 16, 2024) at the PTMG offices on the SKD Boulevard in Monrovia’s Paynesville suburb, the Liberian media icon thanked the institution for the honour bestowed on him.

Mr. Sainworla however, promised to visit the orphanage home and inspire young kids who are aspiring to become Journalists.

The Liberia Media executive at the same time called on media practitioners to focus more on human interest in their news agenda than the usual political headlines.

According to him, reporting on human interest stories, most especially the underprivileged kids in society and persons with disabilities (PwDs) is an important aspect of the Journalism profession that will amplify the voices of the voiceless.

He maintained that stories about social issues, economic matters, and science are very important components of the news agenda mixed with politics.

The honoring ceremony is in continuation of the celebrations of World Press Freedom Day which is celebrated globally on May 3 every year.
