The local football house of Liberia the Liberia Football Association (LFA) through its president Mustafa Raji has praised female members of the 55th Legislature for their speedy response in making sure that the Liberia Female Under-17 National Team adequately get prepared for its crucial tw- legged fixture next month against Nigeria.
President Raji made the commendation during a donation from the Original Country Man Movement (OCM) on Tuesday, 28 May at the LFA heads offices in Paynesville suburb of Monrovia.
The LFA Boss Raji said such response came in the wake after a SOS call from the local football house for the support of women’s soccer on Monday, 27 May 2024.
He lauded special praises on Bong County District 6 Lawmaker Hon. Moima Briggs Mensah who he said give an initial contribution of USD 200.00 as her personal contribution and said that all her colleauges will give their fullest support in the soonest possible time.
The Female Under-17 National Team of Liberia takes on the Female Under-17 National Team of Nigeria on 9 June at the SKD Sports Complex in Paynesville in the first leg of the 2024 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup Qualifers with the return leg to be follow in a week or early June in Nigeria.
Liberia got a ticket to the fourth round of the competition with a 2-0 win against Senegal on 19 May at the SKD Sports Complex in Paynesville, after Senegal defeated Liberia 3-1 in Senegal on 11 May. Thanks to goals from Louise Brown and Dalphine Galo which seal a passage for the U-17 female the of Liberia to the next round of the competition.
At the same time, such momentum for such crucial fixture on 9 June at the SKD Sports Complex in Paynesville for the Under -17 Girls of Liberia has grown up in the country as several sports personalities, football stakeholders, fans and politicians with the like Margibi County District 3 Lawmaker Rep. Ellen Attoh Wreh which has officially confirm her presence at such game on Sunday,9 June in Monrovia.
