The Superintendent of Liberia’s Central Bong County, Esther Walker has been suspended by President George Weah, a day after a leaked audio went viral on the social media and on some local radio stations in Liberia.

In the leaked recording, Superintendent Walker, a close associate of Vice President Jewel Howard-Taylor, was heard revealing to unknown person(s), that she was recently confronted by State for Presidential Affairs Minister Nathaniel McGill and Finance Minister Samuel Tweah that VP Taylor and Bong Senator Marvin Cole were out to assassinate President Weah.

The Bong Superintendent revealed that in a tense atmosphere at President Weah’s Jamaica Resort in the Suburb of Monrovia that ahead of this VP Taylor had masterminded the given of the “Dakpana” traditional Sande and Poro societies title by Bong County to the Liberian Vice President.

Superintendent Walker quoted Minister Tweah as saying: “The only good that blesses you is that you are in the middle of us and, if it was a bad government, we would have executed you.”

She said the lengthy specter, which could have amounted to an interrogation, frightened her as the treasonable claims made by the top officials caused her to fear for her life.

However, since the leaked audio surface with those startling revelations, none of the senior CDC government officials have given any public reactions so far.

Except that some 24 hours after the recording went viral, the Liberian government announced the Suspension of Superintendent Walker with immediate effect.

A statement says that her suspension is pending investigation into allegations she made in a leaked audio.

A press release from the Ministry of Internal Affairs says Minister Varney A. Sirleaf has asked Bong County’s Assistant Superintendent for Development Honorable Anthony Sheriff to act as County Superintendent during the suspension of Superintendent Esther Walker.

She has also been requested to turn over all government properties in her possession, the statement says.

The leaked audio comes hard on the heels of a series of reports of a rift between VP Taylor and President Weah.

And it also comes after claims by the Chairman of the ruling CDC, Mr. Mulbah Morlu a plot to assassinate President Weah, citing some opposition supporters.

Morlu’s startling claims were later validated by President Weah himself at a church service, calling on the clergy to pray for him and using the local proverb, “rat trap is not for rat alone.”
