SPORTS: LFA Ends 5-Day FIFA Elite Referees Course, Calls On Participants To Implement Fairness

MONROVIA (LINA)- The Liberia Football Association, LFA has concluded an intensive Five Days FIFA Training course contained both theory and practical sections, calls on the participants to ulterlize the knowledge gain and display a sense of fairness.

The Football Body of Liberia held a training for 30 Elite Referees consisting of both males and females who assembled at the Headquarters of the LFA outside Monrovia to undergo an intensive training course for capacity building and others essential components associated with the game which came to an end on Tuesday, 18th June 2024.

As part of the primary objective for training,

educate the referees to avoid accepting gifts, bribes and other financial mal practices in return of certain decisions, and always be alerted to keep the game of soccer clean void of wrongful acts.

According to the LFA statement, Jason Damoo who served as a lead facilitator extolled the LFA for developing the capacity of the referees over the years which they have shown a level of improvement from the onset of the trainings as he cautioned the Elite Referees to remain concentrated on the small details, punctuality and level of game analysis.

Making the official closing statement on behalf of the association as 2nd Vice President of LFA, Sekou Konneh lauded the participants of availing themselves to gain knowledge and improve on mistakes so as to avoid repeating acts that would undermine thier growth be used as an excuse if they want to succeed.

“Excuses cannot help you in anything you want to succeed in. This is a noble profession. Please follow the teacher Jason Instructions and do not tarnish his reputation following this training”. LFA Authority mentioned.

For his part, FIFA Badge Liberian Referee, Joel Doe hailed the LFA and other associated partners for such a golden opportunity to upkeep them on the basis and laws of the game, urged the authorities to always look in the direction of referees in Liberia in order to build thier capacities.

The FIFA Badge Referee who spoke on behalf of the participants used the occasion to recommend to the Authority of LFA to aid them in preparation of every LFA League game by conducting three to four days referees training workshop instead of a day-long workshop, and the LFA should consider to make available a customized warm-up Jersey that will show a form of uniformity and uniqueness before a match. Mr. Doe made the kindly appeal.
