Kakata All-Stars End City All-Stars’ Unbeaten Run To Seal Grand Final Spot

The Prosper Prevail FC and Momo Blamo Off-Season Tournament delivered high drama on Sunday, August 17, as Kakata All-stars edged past City All-stars in a tense semifinal clash at the Nancy B. Doe Sports Stadium in Kakata.
In game one at the football slaughter in Kakata, Harmon All-stars won via penalty shootout after a 2–2 draw.Alexander Morgan opened the scoring for Harmon. Vanessa equalized before halftime and took the lead in the second half.
And with much time left to end the fulltime Harmon leveled from the penalty spot late in the game.
With just result Harmon triumphed in the shootout to book their grand final ticket.
In game two at the same venue Kakata All-stars won 5–4 on penalties after a 0–0 draw. A fierce city derby with no goals in regulation time but several chances and shots on goal. Kakata All-stars’ captain Archibald Dwayou scored the decisive penalty.
The results in game two semi-final mean City All-stars suffered their first defeat in the tournament.
Grand Final Set for August 24
Kakata All-stars narrowly defeated Harmon 4–3 in the knockout stage on August 13 at the venue of the competition marking the first in such tournament so with that Harmon All-stars and Kakata All-stars will play each other in the grand finale on 24 August at the famous Nancy B. Doe Sports Stadium in Kakata.
As it stands Kakata All-stars sets a record of becoming the only team so far not is yet to taste a defeat since the start of the tournament in July and moreover the advancement to the grand finale marks the second in a row in such tournament held in Kakata, Margibi County.
Two brains behind the tournament
The first was of last year’s edition under the aupices of Veira Karway and Momo Blamo sponsorship at which Manchester United All -Stars defeated Kakata All-stars in post match penalties shoot out after a goalless fulltime at the Nancy B Doe Sports Stadium in Kakata which marks the first to be held in Kakata.
Prizes & Honors:
It is understood that this year Champions pockets LD 50,000.00 plus a trophy and medals, while on the other hand runner-up walks away with LD 30,000.
At the same time all participating teams will collect a certificate for participation as well there will be several individual awards that include:
– MVP
– Highest Goal Scorer
– Best Coach
– Best Defender
– Best Fair Team
– Best Media Promoter
The Prosper Prevail FC and Momo Blamo tournament kick-started on 15 July with over 10 All-stars club competing in such tournament with the objective of keeping players fit during the domestic league off-season.
