The Project Manager of the Volunteers for Sustainable Development in Africa (VOSIEDA) has underscored the need for support to Agriculture as a means of supporting Liberia’s transformation.
VOSIEDA is a non-profit organization working with several farming groups in Nimba County with the project titled, Building Community Resilience to Climate Impacts Through Climate Small Scale.
Giving the purpose of the VOSIEDA harvest launch in Gbeidin Camp #3 in Nimba District, Mr. Parkerson Zouweh said, that if Liberia is to transform from one stage to another, there is a need for the government of Liberia to invest in agriculture and support every agricultural projects in the country.
Mr. Zouweh maintained that when Liberia as a Nation is food-dependent and supports Liberia farmers, the Nation will grow in all sectors. At the same time, VOSIEDA Executive Director Abigail Cooker has described the Community Resilience Climate Impacts program as a great set towards battling deforestation in Liberia.
On Monday, December 11, 2023, the management of VOSIEDA launched a harvest program for over 60 acres of lowland in Gbeidin Camp #3.
For his part, the Acting Town Chief of Gbedin Camp #3 Junior Tokaph Quoi has hailed the Management of VOSIEDA for the successful harvest launch for about 60 acres of lowland in his community. The harvest launch was witnessed by Nimba County Assistant Superintendent for Development, Rialey G. Myers, Sanniquille Mahn Agriculture Coordinator, George Mantia, Co_Chair of the National Civil Society of Liberia, J. Alexander Nyan including MOGs, among other Ministries.
