Former Lofa County Superintendent Galakpai Kortima is cautioning against any political maneuvering to deny the county’s senator elect, Brownie J. Samukai from being certificated.

He has threatened mass simultaneous citizens’ actions in both Lofa and Monrovia, which, he said could prove uncontrollable, should Brownie’s certification fail to go ahead..

The former Lofa County Superintendent in the Ellen Johnson Sirleaf government urged NEC to act prudently and to decide whether or not they want to become an extension of the executive branch of government, saying the rights of the people of Lofa, can neither be suppressed nor denied,

The former local government official then assured kinsmen that nothing is going to change the people’s vote, as the Supreme Court is the final arbiter of justice in the land.

NEC, or the people of Lofa, Kortima asserts, will not be deterred by a letter from the Justice Ministry.

In light of the haul and pull over the certification of Lofa County Senator-elect Samukai, critical minds have been questioning whose authority should be obeyed: Justice Ministry or Supreme Court? This comes from the backdrop that though the High Court has cleared Samukai, the Justice Ministry is bent on blocking his certification at any length.

For his part, the Lofa County District #1 Representative Francis S. Nyumalin cautioned against tampering with the Supreme Court’s ruling, and admonished NEC to stand firm and to not succumb to any branch of government.

He added that this fight is no longer about Samukai but Lofa County and called all Lofans to stand by their kinsman.

In another news, the Political leader of the Movement for Progressive Change Simon Freeman has petitioned the Supreme Court to prohibit the certification of Samukai on grounds that he is a convicted criminal.
