Lyee K. Bility, the son of opposition Liberty Party (LP), Chairman Musa Hassan Bility has declared his intention to contest for Representative in the 2023 election.
Lyee, who is the Director General of the Renaissance Communications Incorporated owner of Truth FM, has officially declared his intention to contest as representative in electoral District #4, Montserrado County in the upcoming polls.
He is also the Chief Executive Officer of one of Liberia’s one of Liberia’s top entertainment groups (the Bilikon Entertainment).
According to Mr. Lyee Bility, the youthful population of Liberia have been abandoned by past and current leaders of the Country and as such his decision is intended to give hope to the already rejected population.
“Our leaders are responsible for the too many young people involvement into the used of drugs and prostitution, how can you stop your child from taking something but you bringing it to the child,” he said.
Prior his latest decision to enter politics, Layee has been involved into youth activities through the entertainment industry including the establishment of the Bilikon Entertainment that has brought up several Liberian artists including; Kobazzie, Young Zee, Big Maxs among others.
He recounted the many challenges currently being faced by residents of District-4, while emphasizing that the work of the current lawmaker is felt by the young people of the District, something he said has motivated his decision to contest for the District seat.
Following his declaration on the Truth Breakfast Show on Thursday, December 16, 2021 in Monrovia’s Paynesville suburb, Lyee had joined other entertainers, who seeks to use the Legislature to continue their impact in the entertainment industry and the lives of the Country’s youthful population.
Montserrado County District #4 is one of the biggest Districts in the County and is currently being represented in the Legislature by Rustonlyn Dennis.
Liberians are expected to go to the polls in October 2023 to elect 88- Lawmakers and a president and vice president , who will lead the country for the next 6 years, beginning 2024.
There will be 73 Representative seats and 15 Senate seats to be contested for.
