Uncle Who Brutally Murdered 2-Year-Old Boy Sentenced To Life Imprisonment

As Court Also Gives 5-Year Prison Sentence To The Boy’s Grandfather For Criminal Facilitation & Criminal Conspiracy

The uncle of little Momo Saah, who was gruesomely murdered in Liberia’s western Bomi County months ago, has been sentenced to life imprisonment by the 11th Judicial Circuit Court in Tubmanburg presided over by its resident Judge Ciapha Carey.

Last January, Uncle Momo Gray slaughtered two-year-old Momo Saah for ritualistic purpose and he was recently found guilty of murder and criminal conspiracy, while Siafa Gray, the boy’s grandfather was sentenced to five years in jail for Criminal facilitation and Criminal conspiracy.

Two-year-old Saah Momo was butchered with his right leg, right hand, right eye and penis extracted including blood was taken and placed in a small mineral water bottle in Zealay town, Dowein District Bomi County.

The sentencing of the two close relatives of the slain boy took place on May 30, 2023 in the Bomi County capital, Tubmanburg, Bomi.

On Tuesday May 23,2023, the court heard final argument into the murder case of a two years old boy who allegedly butchered by uncle and father.

After the final argument, Jurors retired in their room of deliberation to bring a verdict either in favor or against the defendants.

Uncle of the butchered two boy Momo Gray in Zealay Town, Dowien Districts, Bomi County on May 10,2023 pleaded guilty to the crime of murder after his appearance at the 11th Judicial Circuit Court while the father of the boy, Siaffa Gray pleaded not guilty.

Little Momo Saah was allegedly butchered by his own relatives and six persons were arrested initially but four were released on grounds that they have no connection to killing the boy and held the uncle and father of the boy whom are currently facing trial.

The two defendants were indicted during the February A.D. term of court by the Grand Jury of Bomi County for the crime of murder.

Despite his guilty plea, state prosecutors said they will put aside and go into the case to produce evidence against him.

The case commenced on the 10th of May 2023.

Trial proceedings

During the trial proceedings, state prosecutors produced three general witnesses and rebuttal witness while the defendants testified in their own behalf.

Testifying on his own behalf last Friday, May 19,2023, at the 11th Judicial Circuit Court, defendant Momo Gray, the Uncle of the deceased, admitted of murdering little Momo Saah. But he alleged that he acted upon the order of the two-year-old child’s mother due to the current economy hardship she’s facing.

Also testifying on his own behalf, the father of the deceased pleaded not guilty but provided conflicting statements contrary to what police charged he of while on the direct examination testifying.

It can be recalled January 23,2023, six persons were arrested by the Liberia National Police in Zealay Town, Dowien Distrct for allegedly killing little Momo Saah.

The Liberia National Police arrested a uncle of a two-year-old boy who was allegedly butchered and extracted parts in Bomi County including five other persons were initially undergoing police investigation in connection to the death of a two year-old boy identified as Momo Saah whose body parts including his right leg, right hand, right eye and private parts were extracted in Zealey Town, Bomi County.

Those arrested by then are Momo Gray, Siaffa Gray Cooper Ross, Satta Wonda, mother of the deceased and Omacy Nyei.

Police initial report revealed that the mutilated parts of little child were found in possession of the grandfather of the victim.

Police preliminary investigation established that the suspects committed said act based on financial gains, therefore they are presently at the headquarters of the Liberia National Police undergoing probe.
