Why Is Liberian Pres. Weah On A Music Recording Spree?

(Last Updated On: )

It seems not many Liberians have been clapping and dancing to the latest music just released by President George Manneh Weah.

So, this means that the international football icon-turned politicians has taken off time from busy serious national issues to go into the recording studio to make yet another music—“Da her will win” or commonly referred to as Woki-Woki.

Some have described the latest song, which was released in the wake of the anti-rape street protest early this month, as “inappropriate” , “naïve”, “comical” move by the Liberian leader..

President Weah’s latest song is made in honour of Miss Woki Dolo, Liberia’s contestant at Miss Earth competition:

Amid the criticisms, the President’s Deputy Press Secretary, Smith Toby said last week: “All work without play makes Jack a dull boy.”

Is the Liberian leader bored with grappling with a schedule of serious national issues?

Public Trust Media Group (PTMG) in collaboration with Capital FM 89.7 produces a weekly magazine show every Saturday and Sunday.

In the latest production, WEEKEND FILE’s Reporter Garmah Never Lomo has been getting reactions from some Liberians on the streets of Monrovia about this latest development. FOLLOW THE LINK BELOW:
