With UN Funding, Lofa County Administration Building Under Renovation

VOINJAMA, Liberia- Renovation works on February 10, 2022 begun at the damaged Lofa county Administrative building, which houses the County’s Service Center, here in the north-western Lofa County.

The County’s Administration building hosts the offices of all line ministries and agencies in Lofa.

The office of the County superintendent, his Assistants for development and fiscal affairs are all located in the Administrative building, including the county services center.

On December 25, 2015, portion of the building got damaged as a result of fire outbreak during Hon. George S. Dunor .

Through the efforts of UNDP, the damaged portion was repaired but in May of 2020, a violent heavy storm again unroofed portion of the same building, thus leaving about ten (10) offices and staffers displaced.

Through the efforts of Superintendent William Tamba Kamba, UNICEF as partner to the Government of Liberia agreed to renovate the portion of the unroofed area.

According to local authorities of the county, UNICEF through the Ministry of Internal Affairs has provided close to 46,000:00USD for the renovation of the building.

The current renovation work is been done by the “DYNAMIC CONSTRUCTION COMPANY” based in Lofa County that won the contract to renovate the damage building.

The renovation work which started on Thursday February 10 ,2022 , is expected to last for three months period.

Meanwhile, citizens in Lofa County have lauded UNICEF for their timely interventions ahead of this year raining season.
