The Mandingo Women’s Alliance for Peace and Development (MAEAPAD) is expected to be formally launched on Thursday, 19 June at the compound of the Monrovia Vocational Training Center (MVTC) on the Japan Freeway.
According to Madam Madolly Donzo, Executive Director of MAWAPAD, the Launching ceremony, which will have as its theme: Reawakening a Sense of Local and National Consciousness amongst Mandingo Women” will be graced by a number of personalities. The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon Richard Koon is expected to deliver the Keynote Address, while the organization is expected to be launched by a number of personalities, including Presidential Press Secretary Kula Fofana, Representative Musa Bility, Representative Sekou Kanneh, NPA’s Managing Director, Sekou Dukuly, Senator Abraham Dillon, Senator Edwin Snowe, Senator Amara Konneh, Senator Saah Joseph, amongst others. During the program, MAWAPAD will also honor a number of individuals for their contribution to peace and security in Liberia.
MAWAPAD was founded in 2024 to serve as a platform to mobilize women from the Mandingo ethnic group in Liberia to engage in activities aimed at promoting the rights and welfare of women, and at the same time enhancing peace, reconciliation and sustainable development
